The village of Teso back Bichos, on the island of the Marajó, was occupied during 900 years, of 400 with 1300.
It is surrounded by ground an oval slope 3 m height and 10 m broad. A score of vast houses, built ground, beams and snap rings are laid out around a central place. Maintained hearths, semitubular terracotta furnaces, vases of kitchen and coarse shards released among the remains of hearth, pieces of painted ceramics found in the shelly clusters. The women prepare food in structures multifamiliales while the men live in a reserved house, probably located at the west of the village, on a ceremonial platform encloses walls. 500 to 1000 people live in the village. The examination of the skeletons reveals a population on average very similar to the current Indians of the Amazonia, but larger of 10 cm. The men appear muscular, without trace of Arthrite generally caused by the agricultural work, probably carried out by the women. The ration of protein, important, probably comes from fish. The Maïs constitutes 30% of the ration, with fruits and other plants with seed.
