Culture of Guyana

The culture of the French Guiana has at least three basic points:

  1. the Jungle (and its tropical Climate wet),
  2. the space center of Kourou,
  3. vestiges of the Bagne S in particular on the islands of the Hello,

OUAI Saint-Laurent-of-Maroni the, penitentiary commune, saw passing nearly 70.000 convicts and leprous, mixed with the military supervisors (often Corsican), of 1852 to 1944.

Those which were regarded as the best elements, the first category, went to Saint-Jean-of-Maroni (to 17 km).
