Controversies and polemic

Sect?

Yes, for the Parliamentary commission and associations anti-sects

The OCC is regarded as a Secte in the reports/ratios n°2468 of December 1995 and n°1687 of June 1999. It is qualified Secte " pseudo Catholic " , and appears among the groups having between 50 and 500 Adepte S. Financièrement, he is regarded as a " Sect moyenne" whose annual incomes range between 5 and 20 franc million.

The Commission reproach in particular with the OCC “to infiltrate the world of childhood by the formula of the Training course S and the seminars in the field of the leisures but also of extra teaching and cultural development”, in particular by its “many seminars and lesson in the artistic field”.

Not, for several bishops

This classification has caused indignation of several member of Clergy, Mgr Potter, Mgr Matagrin, and especially the bishop of Troyes, Gerard Daucourt, who, in a letter addressed to Philippe Seguin and deputies of the Aube, estimates “that the wrong which is caused to him reaches it not only itself and the Catholic church in the Département of the Paddle, but also the State which was put in situation of judge and part on the ground of the fundamental Liberté S that it must guarantee”.

Families of trainees as well as the members of the OCC also protested against its classification of Secte.

The defenders of the OCC reproaches the Commission for not having auditioned Jean Vernette, official representative of the Catholic church on the question of the Secte S, and to have accredited in its place the testimony of the father Jacques Trouslard, a bishop which visited the Diocèse S with files overpowering on the OCC.

Financing

The annual receipts of the OCC are considered between 2,8 and 6,2 franc million, are composed of gifts (between 0,2 and 0,8 million F), of contributions (between 0,2 and 0,8 franc million), of sale of a product range ecological and performances of service (between 2,8 and 4 franc million), and of subsidies (0,9 franc million). In 1997, the countable credit net of the OCC amounted to 6.400.000 F.

In 1999, the Parliamentary commission considered the inheritance real of the group at more than 11 franc million.

ADFI shows the OCC to despoil its members because those give all their goods to the community, which can go, for the most active militants of the OCC called “the volunteers in the weddings with Christ”, with the disinheritance of the family, as the Charter of the OCC stipulates it.
