Culann

In the Irish Celtic Mythology, Culann is the blacksmith of Ulster during the reign of Conchobar Mac Nessa.

Whereas the king settles for a ritual festival, it omits to announce the nearest arrival of Setanta. To keep the doors, Culann releases its dog of war, which with the force of a whole army. To enter, the Setanta young person (it is only five years old) has of another possibility only of killing the dog. To repair the loss, the child proposes to take the place of the animal, until another is drawn up. It is at this time that the druid Cathbad renames the child in Cúchulainn, i.e. the dog of Culann.
