Cuisery
Cuisery is a common French, located in the department of Saône-et-Loire and the area Burgundy.
Geography
The canton is located at the southern limits of the department of the Saône-et-Loire, like with the limits of the Burgundy area. But also with the southernmost limits of the speeches of oil. The patois of this part of the valley of the Saone are very influenced by the Franco-Provençal dialects.
History
Dice the 11th century, the lords of Bagé, powerful lords of the area were the lords of the manor of Cuisery. In 1272 following a marriage of a young lady of Bagé with Amédée of Savoy, the city becomes Savoyard. But in 1289, it becomes again Burgundian following an exchange of grounds.
The city becomes French in 1477, following the fastening of Burgundy to the Crown of France. The city remains a frontier town during two centuries. The fastening of the Bresse and the Bugey in France amends this and the small town will become a prosperous locality of the Bresse louhannaise.
