The 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophane) is a Précurseur of the Sérotonine.
The 5-HTP is an amino-acid that our organization produces starting from tryptophan, another amino-acid present in the food proteins (meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, leguminous plants and nut). Once absorbed, the 5-HTP is transformed into serotonin, a neuro-transmitter which fills a crucial role in the regulation of mood, the anxiety, the appetite and the sleep.
Since it increases the production of serotonin in the brain, several researchers and therapeutists consider that the 5-HTP can replace the antidepressants of the family of the selective inhibiters of the recaptage of serotonin or ISRS (for example, Prozac® and Paxil®). This is why one allots the same therapeutic uses to him to treat the depression, the migraine and the headaches, insomnia, the fibromyalgie, the anxiety, obesity like various neurological problems.
It is of Griffonia simplicifolia, a plant of African origin which one especially finds in Ghana and in Ivory Coast, which one extracts the 5-HTP, more precisely of his seed, which contains some from 3% to 7%. It is also possible to synthesize it in laboratory.
