Cubry-lès-Faverney

Cubry-lès-Faverney is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Saône and the area Franche-Comté.

Geography

Located at crossed D 52 and 54, Cubry is more in the west of the three communes of the southern point of the canton of Vauvillers, bordering on the canton of Amance. The brook of the Ducks crosses the territory.

History

Cubry-les-Faverney was always an active small village. The construction of farm equipment, a sawmill, traders various, a company of earthwork and fruit producers, in turn, contributed to its notoriety. Very quickly, it was adopted by the farmers. In 1905, the son, Armand Dénommé, took the changing of manufacture with his two brothers, Maurice and Charles. Each of the three had a well defined sector of sale. In his notes on the history of Cubry-lès-Faverney, published in 1913, the Moltoni abbot announces the production of the plow “Comtoise”, exploited by the three Dénommé brothers, manufacturers and merchants of agricultural machinery, wire of Ernest Dénommé, founder of manufacture. The grandson him, Gaston Named, took the business in hand in 1927 and lasting more than fifty years brought many improvements to the prototype constructed by his/her grandfather. The plow, fixes this time, was made entirely out of steel. As long as lasted the animal haulage, Gaston Dénommé equipped it only with two plowshares to the maximum. With the appearance of the tractors the clever craftsman produces another type of instrument: the plow carried “three points”, with two, three and even four plowshares, remarkable by design. Gaston Dénommé dispatched some as far as Algeria. Rewards in addition rewarded quality for the product resulting from the forging mill. At the time of a contest devoted to the craftsmen, Gaston Dénommé took down the money medal. He was made knight of the agricultural Merit at the time or Mr. Pisani held the wallet of agriculture. To conclude let us note that Gaston Dénommé occupied the post of first magistrate of the commune of 1938 to 1971 and that one decreed to him, for this reason, the medal of honor departmental and communal of money in 1955 and vermeil in 1970.
