Cuberdon

The cuberdon is a Friandise (or Bonbon) Belgian, also called hat of priest in the west of the Wallonia and neuseke (small nose) in Dutch. It presents in conical , of color red-rosy or purplished form , for a size of approximately 2,5 cm. Outside is hard, while at the interior a gelatinous liquid with the very sweetened taste is. It is made of a Pâte of fruits sweetened worked with the Gum arabic and aromatized with the fruit extracts, outside being hard while the interior preserves a certain viscosity.

Let us cuberdons traditional are aromatized with the Framboise. But recently, one saw being born a profusion of new tastes and colors new, so that more than 25 different perfumes currently exist: raspberry, strawberry, Cherry, fruits of wood, Lemon-yellow, Banana, Grapefruit, coconut, Bergamot, Vanilla, Pineapple, Cola, grooves, melon, orange, Mandarine, fishing, Pomme, Poire, kiwi, Menthe, Violette, Myrtille, Lavande, anise…

Since ten years, the cuberdon became “tendency”, and the taste of cuberdon forms today part of the list of the perfumes of reference used by the oenologists. There exists also Peket aromatized with the cuberdon.

The word cuberdon entered the edition 2008 of the Petit Larousse.
