Crystallized Plum

Candie Plum is a group of French Rock based with Rennes, credit of 1995 with 2000, created and carried out by the guitarist/singer Saholy Diavolana. The group includes/understands Laureline PROM with the low and Arnaud Keb with the battery. Their sound recalls that of the Pixies, whose Saholy Diavolana asserts the influence openly, in particular on the album Absurde .

History

Saholy Diavolana founds Candie Plum in October 1995. It engages a beater and a bass player and starts to turn. Their first concert will be done in the Bars in Trans in margin of the Transmusicales of Rennes 1995. In 1996, Arnaud Keb (with the battery) and Laureline PROM, a guitarist who reconverted with the low for the occasion, integrate the group. Their passage to the Off of the Printemps of Bourges 1996 leads them to sign their first contract with a recording company. After a first own-produced EP recorded in 4 days (left the same year) very received by the public, the exit of Absurd in 1998 (recorded with London in 1997) their pleasing success of an unexpected width and propels them in the foreground of the scene rock'n'roll Frenchwoman. The round which follows brings them to cotoyer groups such as Eiffel (then with their whole beginnings), Calexico or Grandaddy.

Their last album in date, Garage Sessions left in 2000, is a Side-project violently Punk rock'n'roll signed Andice Rupen. Arnaud Keb is replaced there by Gilles Morillon. This album marks the end of the group, which separates fine 2000. Laureline PROM and Gilles Morillon will be found later in another group of Rennes, The Dude.
