Cryptophyta

The Cryptophytes ( Cryptophyta , Cryptophyceae ) are unicellular Living organisms , photosynthetic for the majority. This small Taxon (200 species) is relatively homogeneous and of many characters are clean for him.
Characters specific to the Cryptophytes
- Of the trichocystes or éjectosomes is structures specific to this group being used to neutralize preys.
- the ventral face of the cell is traversed by a furrow finished by a major depression . This one is papered trichocystes described above.
- Presence of two " Body of Maupas" , close to the depression, which is structures whose function remains unknown.
- Two Whips S whose longest carries two lines of Mastigonèmes .
- the Mitose presents characteristics suitable for the group. It is known as open and does not utilize of Centriole S.
- the Chloroplaste is equipped with four membrane S, as at the Chlorarachniophyte S and in the brown Lignée. This is the sign of a Endosymbiose of a photosynthetic Eucaryote. Traces of this endosymbiote are still visible at some Cryptophytes , in particular the presence of a nucléomorphe , which is the vestige of the core of the captured eucaryote. The study of ARN R 18S of this nucléomorphe indicates that the endosymbiote is close to the Rhodophyta.
- In the chloroplast, the Thylakoïde S are grouped per pairs.
Ecology
The Cryptophytes meet in all the types of aquatic environments: oceanic mediums with fresh water while passing by pore waters of the wet terrestrial environments.Certain species became parasitic S Intestin with Métazoaire S. Some are Endosymbiote S of Dinophyte S. Some live in a symbiotic way in the ectoplasm of the Radiolaire S.
