The term cryptogamic is used to indicate a certain number of natures observed in the old group of the Végétaux Cryptogame S (with hidden reproduction).

Today it is mainly used for the Champignons, in particular for the diseases of the plants caused by microscopic mushrooms (see cryptogamic Maladie).
