Cryphonectria parasitica

The Cryphonectria parasitica is a Champignon Parasite originating in Asia which is implied in the Chancre Châtaignier or Chancre of the bark. Its imperfect form (Stage conidien) is Endothia parasitica . The range of hosts covers primarily the trees of the Castanea but also Quercus , Acer , Carya ovata , Chrysolepsis chrysophylla and Rhus typhina . This mushroom is a invasive Espèce in Europe and North America.

It is preserved under the bark in the form of cluster of mycelial filaments. Behaving in parasite, it causes by its development the death of fabrics. It is disseminated by the Ascospore S transported by the wind, and which can contaminate other trees by the natural slits of the bark or wounds.
