Crusades seen by the Arabs
the Crusades seen by the Arabs is the first Essai writes by Amin Maalouf. It was published for the first time in 1983. It is translated into several languages.
As its name indicates it, the book tells the point of view of the Arabs on the Croisés and the Croisades, between 1096 and 1291. He tells plunderings and the massacres of the Franjs , he shows the “infirmities” of the Arabs with their delay at the political and military level, in spite of a strong culture. One sees there contrasts of the time between Orient and Occident. It brings in more one reflection on the inversion of the domination of the East on the Occident these last centuries from the crusades, in spite of the Arab victory.
Amin Maalouf takes as a starting point the historians and the Arab chroniclers of the time. It gave a new indication of the crusades in Occident.
