Cruet is a common French, located in the department of the Savoy and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
Located at the foot of the collar of Marocaz, between Chambéry and Albertville.
History
At the time Gallic, starting from IIIe front century J. - C., the ancient road of Combe of Savoy passed under the castle of Verdun, whose name into Gallic means: " citadel principale". There was to be on this headland a fort or a oppidum to control and defend the road. The tomb of a Gallic soldier with his iron sword of IIIe front century J. - C. was discovered on a close eminence, in Chanay. The army of Hannibal passed here to go to Italy by the Small-Saint-Bernard, in 218 av. J. - C.
