Cross of holy Brigitte

The cross of holy Brigitte (in English: Brigid' S cross-country race , Brighid' S cross-country race or Brigit' S cross-country race ; in Gaelic: Crosóg Brighde ) is a Symbole Irish. The first attested Croix go back to the XVIIe century. The crosses are generally manufactured with snap ring S or, more rarely, with Paille. There exist much of Rituel S associated with manufacture with the cross even if its use declines. Some Catholique S keep some on their premises, especially in rural area. The tradition wants that the cross of holy Brigitte protects the house from the fires and the evil spells.

The cross is associated with Brigitte of Ireland which is venerated like one of the patron saint of Ireland. The crosses are traditionally manufactured Ier February, day of the Holy-Brigitte on the island.
