Cross from East Asia of football
The Coupe of East Asia of football is a competition of Football opposing the teams of the countries and territories located in East Asia. It is organized by the Fédération of East Asia of football ( East Asian Football Federation, EAFF).
There exist two separate competitions: one for the male teams which is held since 2003, the other for the female teams which is held since 2005.
In 2005, was held a competition by points, cumulating the results of the male and female teams, excluded those obtained at the time of the phases of qualification.
The national teams of China, South Korea and the Japan are automatically qualified. The teams of Taiwan, from North Korea, Guam, HongKong, Mongolia and Macao must pass by phases of qualification.
The competition is disputed in a championship with four, each team facing only once the three others. The team which has the most points with the classification gains the trophy.
Before the foundation of the EAFF in 2002, the Dynasty Cup , which was held between the four best teams of East Asia, acted as Championship of East Asia of football.
