Cross from Belgium of football

The Coupe of Belgium is the principal trophy of Football in Belgium, after the championship. The final of the Cut of Belgium takes place traditionally with Brussels with the Stade King-Baudouin. This Cut was installation in 1911.

Presentation

In theory, any team recorded with the Belgian Union of football can qualify itself with the Cut of Belgium. The teams of the four national levels must take part in the Cut. The clubs of Promotion begin the competition with the first turn, the teams of highest divisions start later. The clubs of division 1 start only in 1/16ème of finale and profit from a status of head of series. The first matches proceed in the form of a match with direct elimination. The 1/4 and 1/2 finale are held in return ticket. The final takes place at the stage main road, the Stade King-Baudouin.

Various provincial teams take also share with the first turn. The teams of provincial are not they not certain to take part in the competition. Each province chooses its participants in the Cut of Belgium according to the results of the various cuts privinciales.

The winner of the Cut of Belgium is qualfié for the Cut of the UEFA. If the winner of the Cut is already qualified via the championship for the Ligue of the Champions, it is then the finalist who receives a ticket for the Cut of Europe.

The club holding the record of victories is it with 10 titles followed closely by (8 titles) then by (5 titles) which holds, him, the record of lost finale (9 out of 14).
