Croom
Croom ( Cromadh in Irish) is a village of the Comté of Limerick, Ireland. It is located near N20 (which recently circumvents the village) on the river Maigue.
With southern 8km is of Adare on N20, at Croom, is located Castle Croom (the castle of Croom), restored at the 19th century. At the 18th century, it was the place of appointment of the poets of Maigue . In the west of Croom are the ruins of a church of the 15th century (National Monument) and a round Tour of the 12th century of which the upper part misses.
Many American whose family name is Croom seeks their origins in this village but it is an error, makes Croom family name of it is rare in Ireland, whereas it is more surely of Scottish origin or it is more common.
