Crocodilopolis

Crocodilopolis , known also under the name of Arsinoë , of Soukhos or of Chédyt , is the Greek name of Medinet-el Fayoum , current capital of the governorship of the Fayoum. It was a famous city of the ancient Egypt, chief town of the 21e names High-Egypt, known in particular for its temples devoted to the god-crocodile Sobek.
