Cristian Mungiu

Cristian Mungiu is a realizer, scenario writer and Rumanian producer born the April 27th 1968 with Iasi (Romania). It receives the Palme of gold for its feature-length film 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days at the time of the Cannes festival of 2007.

Biography

Cristian Mungiu studied the Littérature English and American at the university of Iasi (Romania), then was formed with the cinematographic realization at the school of theater and cinema of Bucharest. During its studies, Cristian Mungiu worked as a assistant-realizer on various foreign productions turned to Romania, in particular Capitaine Conan of Bertrand Tavernier (1996) and Way of life of Radu Mihăileanu (1998). It finishes its cinematographic course in 1998.

Its first feature film, Occident , is noticed with the Quinzaine the realizers, section parallel of the Cannes festival. Its second, 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days receives the Palme of gold in 2007 at the time of the sixtieth edition of the Cannes festival.
