Crimson of Tyr

The coloring obtained by the Pourpre of Tyr became an emblem of the Antiquité.

The city phenician probably did not draw it from a murex (or secretions of certain sea-snakes). Its manufacture returned it very expensive.

The crimson of Tyr belonged to the food products of Luxe of the Mediterranean Monde ancient.
