Crime passionnel

The crime passionnel indicates a Meurtre or an attempted murder whose mobile is the Passion or the Jalousie in love.

The victim is generally a loved being of the killer and it having misled, or its lover (E).

The most traditional diagram is that of the triangle in love: two people who like a third of it and jalousent themselves.

The crime passionnel is the subject often of particular legislation, because it is considered that passion in love makes lose the self-control in the extreme cases, in particular of jealousy. It often is thus less severely punished than other types of murder, than it is in the Loi (laws of exceptions) or only in the facts (circumstances considered attenuating). In France, for example, it is one of the forms of homicide the least severely punished. Let us note that if the crime passionnel is, in France, one of the forms of homicide the least severely punished, it is undoubtedly the consequence of the influence of the doctrines Italian positivist of the 19th century, at the time of the apogee of the artistic romanticism and arts person in Europe.

The dispute O.J. Simpson is a pled example of crime passionnel.

The crime passionnel inspired much the police literature and the scenarios of Murder party.
