Creteil Lake

The Lake Creteil is an urban artificial lake of approximately 40 hectares located at Creteil (the Valley-of-Marne). It is about an old career reconverted in lake in the middle of the Années 1970.

At the beginning of the year 1968, a project of realization of the Park of general interest of Creteil is born.

The alteration work of the accesses of the lake lasts until in 1988. One finds thus, since 1978, a base of leisures, a House of nature and a school of veil. Gardens, of which the “Garden of Arménie” and the “Garden of the Small cross”, and zones of walks.

Since 2003, the management of the House of Nature was entrusted to association Nature & Société. Studies on the Creteil Lake are consultable at the House of the Nature of the Base of Leisures of Creteil.

In 2001: germs of Botulisme were discovered in corpses of swans and fish, which involved the suspension of the authorization to fish until 2004.
