Crespières

Crespières is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at approximately 17 km to the west of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.

The inhabitants are the Crespiérois .

Geography

Vast rural district, Crespières is located in the Plaine of Versailles at a score of kilometers at the west-north-west of this city.

It is bordering on Orgeval in the North-East, Feucherolles in the east, of Davron in south-east, Thiverval-Oil cake in the south on approximately 800 Mr., of Beynes in south-west, Mareil-on-Mauldre in the west, Herbeville in the North-West and the Alluets-the-King in north.

The commune is delimited in the south by the Ru of Gally, affluent of the Mauldre.
It is crossed of is in west by the secondary road 307 which connects Versailles to Mareil-on-Mauldre and of north in the south by the secondary road 198 which connects to the Alluets-the-King to Thiverval-Oil cake.
The connection the SNCF nearest is the Gare of Pleasure - Oil cake.

Apart from the village, the commune comprises an important variation, the Lotissement residential and private of the park of Cross-Marie .

History

The name of “Crespières” would come from Latin, crispus , corrugated, undulating.

  • Parish founded in 918, dependence thereafter of the Abbey of Saint-Martin-of-Fields.

Monuments

  • Saint Martin's day Church: church of Romance style of the 12th century, classified with the additional inventory of the historic buildings in 1950.
  • Castle of Wideville: castle of style Louis XIII located at the limit of Davron, built towards 1580 for Benoit Milon, first intendant of finances of Henri III, rebuilt in 1620 per Claude de Bullion. It is currently the property of the Italian dressmaker Valentino.

  • Georges Brassens had acquired there a property, the mill of the Plug, where he lived of 1958 to 1971. Every year, a festival accommodates many singers wishing to pay homage to him.
