Creek of Sugiton

The creek of Sugiton is located at the south of the Marseilles agglomeration, close to the university site of Luminy. She is generally attended by naturists who are installed on a small pebble beach or " flagstones of rocher". Its access was prohibited in February 2006 by local by-law following a mortal crumbling. The Calanque of Stone-Fallen which owes its name with the instability of the rocks is sometimes confused with the Calanque of Sugiton and is immediately in the East of this one.

With ten meters of the shore, emerges a characteristic rock small island, bearing the name of Rocher of the destroyer because of its resemblance to a warship. It is sometimes called the swan , its aspect evoking this bird sailing on the surface of the floods.

The GR. 51, which crosses the majority of the creeks of Provence, passes near that of Sugiton. With the autumn 2006, the National office of the forests, manager of the site, decides, without dialog, to destroy the historical paths which he considers too dangerous. Its security policy causes the dissatisfaction with associations of hikers, like the alpine Club French, who act for the safeguard of the inheritance of the creeks.
