Credits of South Park

South Park is an animated series American. Its credits, whose band its is played by the group Primus, were declined in several versions along the seasons.

Warning

At the beginning of the majority of the episode a false warning appears, where one can read (in the French version):

“ All the characters and the events of this cartoon, even those based on actual facts, is completely fictitious. The voices of the famous people that you could hear are imitations (pitiful). The dialogs of program are of a perfect vulgarity and for this reason it should be prohibited with any public. ”

The only episode where it does not appear is Pip.

Bandage

It is Claypool (with the song) and its group Primus which play the music of the credits. Initially, the song was judicious to have a rather slow Tempo, but the fastest version was finally selected. The old one is used in the credits of end. When the boys returned in CM1 (season 4), the piece was remixé by Paul Robb, in a version more Hip-hop. To leave season 6, a new grinding, increasingly faster, is used, taking as a starting point the musics of Western. Since the season 10, one hears the song “ Whamola ” of Colonel Claypool' S Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, a new project of Claypool. The words remained the same ones throughout the seasons, except for the tirade of Kenny, which changes with each one of them.

Animation

First version

That starts with the heads of the boys who fall from the sky, to go to be assembled with their body, while the decoration is built behind them. They take then the bus for the school and one can see behind them various events and characters of the series. After the first season a new version was assembled which comprised the principal events of this one (Mecha Streisand of the episode same name, the aliens of “Cartman has an anal probe” for example). If the episode utilizes a celebrity, its name and that of its lapping machine appear on the screen at the time when the bus lose yourself in the horizon. In the first episode, “Cartman has an anal probe”, one can note that the music is slower.

Second version

This version appears with the episode CM1: the music starts, the heads start to be stuck to the body, then it slows down. The panel of South Park appears then (what was not the case previously), but an explosion destroys it him and the boys. A kind of turn metal, carrying the inscription " 4th Grade" (CM1) spouts out while whirling. Images in 3D of the boys appear, while they sing, intersected with extracts of episodes. Words and sentences flicker with the screen, like “ More explosions! ” (More explosions), “ Smarter ” (smarter) or “ Faster ” (faster). In the place of final with the inhabitants of South Park, one with the image of Timmy, always in 3D, and a video extract where one sees a man jumping to the top of a car in an explosion closes these credits. The advertisement of the famous guests is done at the time of the sequence of Kenny.

Third version

From the season 6, a new version appeared. It starts with the hands of the director of animation, Eric Stough, cutting out Stan and to stick it on the decoration. They will continue to appear during all the credits, to create the 3 other main characters. After the disappearance of Kenny, during the sixth season, it is Timmy which replaced it, and it took again its place on its return.

These credits, if it is looked at of slowed down speed, contain extracts comprising of the scenes of naked and to connotations sexual, which was not the case in the first 2 versions (for example, when each boy is assembled, of the forms resembling their Pénis or them Anus very briefly appears, in flashes about the Nanoseconde).

Version of Halloween

For the first 3 special episodes of Halloween, it is the first version which is used. The head of Stan is replaced by a Citrouille and the guitarist of Primus transformed himself into skeleton, with a “electric-false guitar”. The bus carries the inscription “Happy Halloween” and all the female characters carry disguises of witch. Floating Jesus in the sky is replaced by a witch on his brush. A cemetery takes the place of the family alien and the school is a haunted house. Lastly, the panel of the city is a tomb stone on which a bat comes to knock itself. The episode of most recent Halloween, the hell on ground 2006, does not present a sequence of opening different from usually.
