Cream

Cream is a British group of rock'n'roll of the Années 1960 composed of the Guitariste Eric Clapton, Bassiste Jack Bruce, and Batteur Ginger Baker.

Biography

Famous to have been the first Power trio of the history of the Rock'n'roll, their music is characterized by a mixture of Blues, Rock and a good amount of Psychédélisme which combines the control of Clapton, the air voice of Jack Bruce and the insane rates/rhythms of Ginger Baker. Cream represents the intense energy of the sound of the time, anchored in a more traditional style Blues. The compositions are mixed between the traditional traditional ones like " Crossroads " and " Born Under has Bad Sign " , while passing by more eccentric songs like " Strange Brew " and " Tales off Faces Ulysses ".

With The Grateful Dead, Cream is regarded as the first " jam band ". Indeed, in concert, the group did not cease improvising with songs which exceeded the 20 minutes regularly. The group is also regarded as being one of the pioneers of the music heavy metal.

Felix Pappalardi, the producer (and later member of the group Mountain), called sometimes the fourth member of Cream, appears in a way very noticed on the album Disraeli Gears . The British poet Pete Brown wrote the words of several songs of the group and was also an important contributor.

After their separation in November 1968, the three members of Cream do not rejouent together any more until in 1993, for the ceremony of the introduction of the group to the Rock-and-roll Hall off Famed.

The group reforms in May 2005 for a series in four concerts to the Royal Albert Hall of London where they had played their last concert in 1968.

The group sold more than 35 million albums and received the first Disque of platinum of the history for Wheels off Fire .
