In the Data-processing jargon , the Anglicism “ crash landing ” (used like Substantive: a crash landing, or like Verb: the system was crashé) indicates an abnormal and often unexpected interruption of a Logiciel, that it is a simple application or the Operating system itself. The program can not answer more, the screen to solidify, or the computer suddenly to start again.
The francized term nearest is that of “planting”, recommended by the Quebec office of the French language and usually used in other French-speaking countries like France. One uses also the more general terms of “incident” and “breakdown”.
