Crantor , philosopher academician, native of Plates in Cilicie, flowered towards 306 front J. - C. He was disciple of Xénocrate and Polémon, and rather accurately taught the system of Plato, which after him the news Académie deteriorated. It dealt especially with morals. It remains of him some fragments, collected by F. Kayser, Leipzig, 1841. Bleek wrote its Vie , Leyde, 1837.
