In the Greek Mythology, Apaté is a minor Greek goddess. She is a girl of Nyx and the personification of deception, perfidy, fraud, disappointment, fraud and dishonesty. She is related with Fraus in the Roman Mythologie.
Its male equivalent is Dolos, personification of trickery and the trick. It is also accompanied by the Pseudologoi, the Lies.
Its opposite is Aléthée, the Truth.
It is one of the evils contained in the Pandora's box.
