Biography

With the beginning of the year 1980, Craig Pollock works as professor of sport to the college Beautiful-Sun of Villars, in Suisse. It is there that it recontre for the first time the young person Jacques Villeneuve, sent in pension following the fatal accident of his/her father Gilles Villeneuve in May 1982. Pollock and Villeneuve bind friendship and are discovered in particular a common passion for the Alpine skiing.

The two men find themselves by chance several years later, in 1992, with the Japan. Villeneuve became then a professional racing driver and disputes the Championnat of Japan de Formule 3. He proposes in Craig Pollock to become his manager, an offer that this last accepts. At the time of the following years, Pollock accompanies the rise by Villeneuve, to the world title of the Québécois pilot in 1997 at Williams.

In the shade of Villeneuve, Pollock is a privileged spectator of the operation of the Williams stable, which has dominated Formula 1 for several seasons. That sharpens its ambitions and incites it to direct its own stable. At the end of 1997, it repurchases the team Tyrrell Racing in partnership with the giant of the tobacco British American Tobacco and takes of it the direction at the time of the season 1998. But this repurchase is actually only the first stage of the creation of the very new stable British American Racing, which is born at the beginning of the season 1999.

In spite of important financial means, the support of the motor mechanic Honda as from 2000 and the presence at the wheel of Jacques Villeneuve, the team pains to rise on the level of the best and especially points out itself by the internal crises which regularly seem to agitate it. At the conclusion of the season 2001, Pollock is itself victim of the one of these sudden start and, having lost the confidence of the principal shareholder, loses his station with the profit of David Richards. Without responsibility within the team, Pollock will remain a minority shareholder of the team until 2004, and the acquisition of a holding of Honda in the capital of the team.

In 2003, Craig Pollock finds the direction of a team of race, but in the championship CART. With the Australian contractor Kevin Kalkhoven, it repurchases the remainders of the team CAP West, and founds km No Racing. The wire of the season, the pilots Patrick Lemarié, Bryan Herta, max Papis and Mika Salo follow one another on the single car of the team, for results in constant progression. But as of the end of the year, Pollock resells its shares with daN Pettit and Jimmy Vasser (whose new association with Kalkhoven forms the PKV Racing).

In 2007, Craig Pollock is always the manager of Jacques Villeneuve.
