Couvin (in Walloon Couvén ) is a French-speaking city of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Namur.

Couvin was one of the 23 Bonnes Cities of the Principauté of Liege.
In 1814, Couvin had remained French and belonged to the department the Ardennes. In 1815, to the Second Treaty of Paris, it was attached to the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the same time as Mariembourg, Fagnolle, Bouillon and Philippeville.
