Court of the Kampuchean genocide
The court of the Kampuchean genocide (or " Crimes of the Kampuchean revolution ") is a Kampuchean court sponsored by the the United Nations. The special court brings together Kampuchean and foreign magistrates. Its mission is to still consider rare old hiérarques mode Khmer Rouge in life.
After eight years of negotiations, the court was set up in July 2006. Many litigations remain on questions of procedure. The slowness of the process makes fear that old hiérarques, all old, do not die before their possible appearance.
The special court stated mid-July 2007 that it would examine the files of five suspects for an appearance with a lawsuit which should take place the next year:
- Kang Kek Ieu, known as " Douch" (prisoner and accused), head warden Tuol Sleng (or S-21) with Phnom Penh
- Nuon Chea, more former high ranking official of the mode of Pol Pot
- Khieu Samphan, former Head of the State
- Ieng Sary, former chief of the diplomacy,
- Meas Muth, son-in-law of the former military chief Your Mok
