Courseulles-on-Sea
Courseulles-on-Sea is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.
In Courseulles, the marina is next to the old oyster beds. The common one has community life, sporting and cultural developed. The littoral is arranged to ensure respect of the environment (park of the Edict, installations around the center Juno Beach…).
Geography
Courseulles-on-sea belongs to the Communauté of communes of Bessin, Seulles and Sea which gathers twelve communes of Courseulles-on-Sea with Arromanches-the-Baths.- nautical France station

In the beginning a river, the Seulles was thrown to the sea with Bernières. Following a storm, this mouth moved. The city then could develop by digging a port. This port formerly turned towards a saving of fishing and naval construction at CNR (Joined together Norman Building sites), owes the essence of its activity by activitées of Pleasure.
History
The reference to the sea was added in 1957.One found in the fields close to the city of the Roman parts.
With XVIIIe and XIXe centuries, Courseulles produced oysters for the sale in Paris.
The June 6th, 1944, the city was the theater of important combat carried out by the Canadian regiments which released the city after one day. The port was defended by a small gun, and some blockhouses.
June 14th, 1944, the Général de Gaulle crossed the Manche aboard French ship Fighting It . It unloaded on the coast between Courseulles and Graye-on-Sea. A cross of Lorraine was set up in extreme cases of the two communes, and a commemorative plaque is close to the house of the sea, at the exit of the port.
