Courcelles-on-Viosne is a common French, located in the department of the Val-d'Oise and the area Île-de-France. Its inhabitants is called the courcellois (be).

Geography

Courcelles-on-Viosne is located in the valley of the Viosne, small river of the French Vexin, to 40 km in the North-West of Paris.

The commune is served by the Gare of '' Montgeroult - Courcelles '') on the line Paris - Gisors-Junction (), and is bathed by the Viosne.

History

The name of the village comes from Latin corticella , diminutive of cortem , field, which in general indicates the dismembered fraction of a great field.

The existence of the village is attested in 1127 under the name of Curcellis .

Monuments and places of visit

the church Saint-Lucien was set up with and 13th centuries. It has two Nef S and ends in two chorus S with flat Chevet. The Clocher consists of a tower square of the 12th century bored of bays in semicircular arch and surmounted by an octagonal stone arrow. The angles are decorated of four pyramidal pinnacles. The building was classified historic building in 1908.

the castle was built at the 17th century but was very altered since.

the mill of Courcelles date essentially of the 19th century but still has a building of time Louis XIII. Its existence on this site goes back to the Moyen-âge.

the pattée cross out of stone known as “Cross of Justice”, near the Fitted Jules-César, date of the 13th century.
