The final was held with the Parc of the Princes to Paris, the June 2nd 1990.

The null and virgin score being at the end of the prescribed time the two teams had to play of the prolongations to decide between itself. Laurent Blanc opened the score with the 101e, then was imitated by its fellow-member Ferhaoui with the 108e. The reaction of Racing Paris one minute later via David Ginola was insufficient to prevent the montpelliérains from gaining their first national trophy.
