The county of the Mississippi (the Mississippi county) is a county of the Missouri to the the United States. The county goes back to 1845. The seat of the county is located at Charleston. With the census of 2000, the population consisted of 13.427 individuals.

The population was made up of 77,93% of white, of 20,53% Afro-Americans, 0,25% of Amerindians and 0,11% the Asian ones.
