County of Travis
The county of Travis (English: Travis County ) is a county located in the center of the State of the Texas at the the United States. It is named in the honor of William Travis, the lieutenant-colonel of the army texane in the Siège of Fort-Alamo. The seat of the county east Austin, the capital of the State. According to the census of 2000, its population is of: 812280 inhabitants.
The county has a surface of: 2647 km ², of which: 2562 km ² on the terrestrial surfaces.
