County of Schuylkill

The county of Schuylkill is a American county of the State of Pennsylvania. With the census of 2000, the county counted: 150336 inhabitants. It was created on March 1st, 1811, starting from the counties of Berks and Northampton. It draws its name from the river Schuylkill which takes its source there. The county is located in the middle of the area of coal. The Siège of the county is located at Pottsville.
