The Comté of Prince-William ( Prince William County ) is a county of the state of Virginia (the United States). With the census of 2000, its population was of 280.813 inhabitants. The seat of the county is in the town of Manassas.
The county belongs to the Washington Metropolitan Area .
History Prince William County was created by year act off the General Assembly off the colony off Virginia in 1731, largely from the western section off Stafford County ace well ace has section off King George County. The county is divided into seven magisterial districts: Brentsville, Adhesives, Dumfries, Gainesville, Neabsco, Occoquan, and Woodbridge. The magisterial districts each elect one supervisor to the Board off Supervisors which governs Prince William County. There is also has Chairman elected by the county At-broad, bringing total Board membership to 8; this may increase after the 2010 census when year eighth magisterial district is likely to Be added. With Vice-Chairman is selected by the Board from amongst its membership. The current Chairman is Corey A. Stewart, who previously served ace the Occoquan District Supervisor. The current Vice-Chairman is Martin E. Nohe, the Coles Supervisor District.
