County of New London
The county of New London is one of the eight county of the American State of the Connecticut. It is located at the south-east of the State. According to the census of 2004, its population is of 266.466 inhabitants.
As for the seven other counties of Connecticut, there is no government of the county; in fact the cities are responsible for the police force, of the regiment of Sapeurs-pompiers, the school S, etc
Geography
According to the Office of the census of the United States, surface of the county east 1.999 km ², including 1.725 km ² of ground and 274 km ² of water levels. The total water surface accounts for 13,70% of wide county.
Demography
With the Census of 2000, there were 259.088 inhabitants, 99.835 households, and 67.188 families in the county. The Population density was of 150/km ². There were 110.674 houses with a density of 64/km ². The population was made up of:- 87,00% white,

- 1,96% Asian ,
- 0,96% Amerindian,
- 0,06% natives of the islands of the Peaceful ,
- 2,05% various other ethnos groups,
- 2,68% of mongrel.
On the 99.835 households, 32,40% had older children of less than 18 years, 52,50% were married couples , 11,00% were parental mono families, and 32,70% were the households not-families. 26,40% of the households were composed people living alone and 9,50% were elderly of more than 65 years living alone. The average household comprised 2,48 people and the average family had 3,00.
Side of the population pyramid: 24,40% had less than 18 years, 8,60% from 18 to 24,31,20% from 25 to 44,22,80% from 45 to 64, and 13,00% which were 65 years old or more. The median age was 37 years. For each 100 women, there were 97,9 men. For 100 women who were 18 years old or more, there were 96,5 men.
The average revenue of the households of the county was $50 646 to compare with the national average which is of $41,994, and the median income of family was $59 857. The men had a median income of $41 292 compared with $30 525 for the women. The Revenu per head of the county was $24 678. 6,4% of the inhabitants and 4,5% of the families lived under the Poverty line. 7,8% of the people who had less than 18 years and 6,6% of the people which had more than 65 years lived under the poverty line.
