County of Matagorda
The county of Matagorda is a county of the State of the Texas to the the United States.
It counted 37.957 inhabitants in 2000. The Siège of the county is Bay City. Its name of Spanish origin subdued gorda means “large bush”, because of the forests which pushed on its shores in the Gulf of Mexico.
