County of Kexholm
The Comté of Kexholm ( Kexholms län or Käkisalmen lääni ) belonged to the historical province Swedish of Karelia between 1634 and 1721, date on which it was returned to the Russia with the Traité of Nystad. Its capital was current the Priozersk, or Käkisalmi in Finnish, on south-western bank of the Lac Ladoga.
In 1812, it is incorporated in the Grand-duché of Finland as a part of the Vieille Finland, then made in 1917 part of lately independent Finland. At the time of the War of Winter, it is annexed by the Soviet Union with the remainder of the Isthme of Karelia. The grounds of the old county are today Russian side of the border.
