The county of Inlays ( Marquette County in English) is located in the center of the higher peninsula of the State of Michigan. The county is named in the honor of Jacques Marquette, the Explorateur and missionary French. Its seat is with the Ville of Marquette. Its population, according to the census of 2000, is: 64634. According to the surface, the county of Inlays is the largest county of Michigan. It is also the county more populated higher peninsula.
Geography
The county has a surface of: 8871 km ², of which: 4176 km ² are of ground. The Montagnes of Huron is in the county.
