The county of Howard (English: Howard County ) is a county located in the center of the State of the Maryland at the the United States. It is named in the honor of John Eager Howard, a soldier in the Guerre of American independence and then the governor of Maryland. The seat of the county east to Ellicott City. According to the census of 2000, its population is of: 269457 inhabitants.
