The county of Hancock is a county of the the United States located in the State of Virginia-Western. In 2000, the population was of: 32667 inhabitants. Its seat is New Cumberland. The county owes its name with John Hancock, signatory of the Déclaration of independence of the United States. The county was created in 1848 starting from the Comté of Brooke. It is the smallest county of the State and the county located more at north.
