The county of Greene is a American county of the State of Pennsylvania. With the census of 2000, the county counted: 40672 inhabitants. It was created on February 9th, 1796, starting from the county of Washington and draws its name from the General Nathaniel Greene. The Siège of the county is located at Waynesburg.

The county belongs to the metropolitan region of Pittsburgh.
