County of Fengdu
The county of Fengdu (丰都县; Pinyin: Fēngdū Xiàn) is a subdivision of the municipality of Chongqing in China.
Geography
Its surface is of 2 901,16 km ².
Demography
The population of the county was of: 770910 inhabitants in 1999, and of: 790000 in 2004.
Tourism
The mount Split or Mingshan (冥山), “mount of the Hells”, located at the North-East of the county, was identified starting from the Song of the south to the seat of the hells mentioned by Zhengao (真誥), a text Taoïste. One finds in XXIe century a tourist village-phantom there on the road of cruisings on the Chang Jiang.
