County of Countered Costa

The county of Countered Costa is a county of the State of California to the the United States. With the census of 2000, it counted 948.816 inhabitants. Its chief town is Martinez.

Geography

According to the Office of the census of the United States, the county has an total surface area of 2,078 km ². 1,865 km ² of ground and 213 km ² (10.25% of the total) of water. It is bordered in the south and the west by the Comté of Alameda, in the North-East by the Baie of San Francisco, in north by bays of San Pablo and Suisun and in the east by San Joaquin River. The county is crossed by several tectonic faults. Mount Diablo and the Oakland-Berkeley Hills is its most important reliefs.
