County of Brooke

The county of Brooke is a county of the the United States located in the State of Virginia-Western. In 2000, the population was of: 25447 inhabitants. Its seat is Wellsburg. The county of Brooke was created in 1796 starting from the county of Ohio and owes its name with the politician Robert Brooke, governor of Virginia of 1794 to 1796.
